  1. I would LOVE to win this book!! I belong to a weekly meditation/book study group; we have just finished Pema Chodrun’s ‘The Places that Scare You’ and have started ‘No Time to Lose’, her huge commentary on Shantideva’s Way of the Bodhisattva. It has taken us a month (!) to get through Chapter One, discussing and pondering, there is so much stuff going on in all our lives that would fall under the categories of ‘disappointing, difficult, or painful.’ Something (presumably short and) pithy would be a great adjunct to the weekly meetings. Thank you for offering this chance.

  2. Ever since my first listen to Ani Pema from CD checked out of my public library I have been a student and admirer. Most of my collection has been passed on to others to share her insights when they seem to need it. It would be lovely to add this volume to my library for review and sharing.

  3. I would like to thank Pema Chodron and Shambhala for everything they have done for me. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You.

  4. I would be honored to read this book. Hopefully within are hints about getting “unstuck”; as this would be highly beneficial in the work I have ahead of me! Thank you.

  5. would love to win this book – very timely in my life right now…
thank you for the chance to win a copy

  6. Pema is able to be just one of us and put concepts into words we can comprehend. Shenpa is really so uncomfortable but if you follow Pema’s advice, it’s tolerable.

  7. In these bewildering times the wisdom she offers is dynamic ! For years I have cherished this great human beings writings. I continue to do so and pray for her safety, happiness, and longevity. Namaste , Psychic Frank

  8. I would love to get my hands on this book and begin the practice today. Like many others before me, I have had great loss in my life recently and it just seems that I cannot free myself from this pain and guilt.

My acupunture practitioner was telling me that I am “stuck” so this book seems to speak directly on my heart level.

    Thank you.

  9. I love all of Pema’s books and I don’t have this one. My budget has been cut and can’t afford to spend much on books at this time. Would love to have this one…..thank you Pema

  10. I love all of Pema’s book and she is so inspirational to me and the clients I work with. My budget has been severely cut and books are not on my spending list. I don’t have this one and would love to read it……thanks Pema!

  12. It’s funny with these giveaway contests: You somehow feel you have to prove you need this book more than anyone else, but it would be selfish to try to win it. So then you try to be funny about the whole situation, and that only risks making things even more pathetic. Now if that isn’t samsara….

  13. Pema Chodron’s explanations and teachings on shenpa have been of immeasurable benefit to me in my day to day dealings with others. Being able to recognise not only my own, but also the shutting down in others has saved me much energy. I don’t waste quite as much time flogging a dead horse owned by shenpa, I pick my battles and try to fight them when I’m not bound as tightly by my shenpa ropes. Thank you Pema and Dzigar Kingtrul Rinpoche for this practical wisdom!

  14. Her teachings are a blessing. I’m listening to her CD set, “Perfect Just as You Are.” Thanks for holding a drawing!

  15. I would love a copy of this book. Going through some emotional turmoil right now and I think this book would give me some insight. Thanks.

  18. I cannot read to read this book. I have taken so much from Pema Choddron’s writing since the separation of my husband and I in March. Her words have brought me peace, prospective and the increased ability to manage the moment. I look forward to reading more of what she has written.

  19. Pema Chödrön’s When Things Fall Apart saved my life and her other books and articles continue to change my life, always for the better, always to be more present, to lean into the sharp points, to be more compassionate to self and others. Thank you for this offer.

  20. I am ready to take the leap and move from grief toward love. Pema’s work has given me the strength to envision a life without fear and the hope that I can find that. My family deserves this from me and so do I.
    In Peace and Compassion…

  21. Pema Chodron is a truly compassionate spirit. I love her book “Getting Unstuck”. I can’t wait to read this one!

  22. I look forward to reading and practicing Pema’s words and insights when dealing with the arising of daily hindrances.

  23. I love Pema Chodron. Her books are what got me started on the path. I continue to rely on them for instruction & insight. I am waiting for another book to arrive.

  24. I am beginning a new life and trying to leave behind all of the fears instilled in me as a child by my mother who was a worrier and paranoid. This book would probably be so helpful in my transition so I hope I will win. Thank you for giving away your books. I suspect the universe ensures they go to the person who needs it most. Blessings!

  25. Our old habits bind us like chains, one by one we ought to hunt them and break them so to see reality a new, not as described. Great possibilities will present themselves once we are no longer bound by routines and repetitious circles we entrap oursrlves in!

  26. As a great fan of Pema Chodron, I would just love to add this book of hers to my collection. To me, this is the lady who ‘nails me to the wall’ with her deadly honesty, and loving kindness. She just says everything I was thinking and did not want to say. I love her, and have found so much wisdom in her writings.

  27. Pema Chodron’s teachings have helped me so much. She and Thich Nhat Hahn have inspired me to be a better kinder person Sometimes I am pleased with where I am and sometimes I am forgiving myself for not doing better. As a clinical social worker I too am a teacher and I gently offer these same lessons to those who are open to them. We are all part of the same system and I believe our responsibility to the Universe and thus to our ourselves and to each other is to do what we can to make our system/world/universe a more loving harmonious place for us to “be.”
