Book coverIn meditation, by assuming a dignified and upright posture and identifying with the outgoing breath, we begin to make friends with ourselves in a fundamental sense. When thoughts arise, they are not treated as enemies, but they are included in the practice and labeled simply as “thinking.” One begins to see how confusion, speed, and aggression are generated by ignoring the peacefulness of one’s being.
