We don’t want to get blamed for somebody else’s actions. We will immediately say, “It wasn’t my fault.” We can’t bear to be blamed unjustly. Well, that is quite sensible, I suppose—people don’t like to be blamed. But suppose we decided to take the whole thing on ourselves and let ourselves be blamed, then what would happen? It would be very interesting to find out.
Student: Was giving in in this way what Christ did?
Chögyam Trungpa: That seems to be very obvious, yes. He just took the blame.
